Johana has been active for many years in a number of oil and gas industry professional societies in particular IPIECA and the Society of Petroleum Engineers [SPE] notably as the founding Chair of the Sustainable Development Technical Section and as the Chair of the first Sustainability Program at the SPE International Conference on HSSE-SR and from 2017 to 2020 on the SPE International Board of Directors as Technical Director for HSE & Sustainability.
