[CCoE Notice] CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - Science and Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH 2021)

Dear ASIE Members & Supporters:



ASIE is seeking volunteers as Judges for the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH 2021). The 2021 Fair will be VIRTUAL! The official date to start judging for the 2021 SEFH is Saturday, February 13, 2021 and will continue until Saturday, February 27th at 3:00 p.m.

This year, Special Awarding Agencies (SAA) will conduct asynchronous review of student projects. Students will prepare and upload project materials, including a video presentation to the judging platform.  Judges will be emailed an agency specific link to access the judging platform to review assigned projects as determined by the SAA's Lead Judge.  Because the Fair will be entirely online, judges will be able to participate from anywhere with an internet connection.  Judges will need access to a desktop or laptop computer; as, the website used to display the projects and collect scores is generally not compatible with smartphones or tablets.  The system does not operate with Internet Explorer but will use any of the other browser systems including MS Edge.



ASIE focuses on giving back to the community by volunteering for various initiatives in the Engineering and Architectural disciplines. In the past, several ASIE volunteers have assisted as SEFH Judges. The SEFH is a non‐profit organization devoted to the enhancement of math and science education in junior and senior high schools. During the past 60 years, thousands of area students have benefited from this fair and we want to continue to plan to be of greater service in the years to come. Our students need and deserve this kind of support and we invite you to get involved with these future scientists and engineers.
