New Stream Experience (Coming May 2021 after finals)
Microsoft is changing the way Team meeting recordings are being stored. Currently meeting recordings automatically upload to Classic Stream (the version we have been using for many semesters). After SP2021 finals, UH O365 Administrators plan to move everyone to the New Stream Experience. So, what does this mean for our users?

1. Meetings hosted outside of a Team (usually created within Outlook) will automatically be stored in your personal OneDrive space within a “Recordings” folder. Viewing permissions will automatically allow those that attended to access the video recording. Videos can be shared with external guests. 2. Meetings hosted within a Team
* Team meetings hosted within a Class Team will automatically be stored in the Team’s SharePoint site within a “Class Materials” folder – which does not allow students the opportunity to download, delete, or edit files stored within that folder.
* Team meetings hosted within a Staff Team will automatically be stored in the Team’s SharePoint site within a “Recordings” folder – which allows members viewing and editing privileges. The creator of the Team can change permission settings if needed.
3. New Stream Experience does not currently have all the features of Classic Stream. Microsoft is working to add those features over time. The New Stream experience will offer a variety of analytical information and new features. 1. Classic Stream will continue to be available for another year or so. Users can choose to manually upload their videos into Classic Stream and continue the use of its features (such as auto transcripts, transcript search, embed code, interactivity, comments, creation of playlists/channels, etc.)
2. O365 UH Administrators plan to use a migration tool when Classic Stream becomes ‘end-of-life.’ The migration tool should retain all the video URLs. At this time (April 2021), it is uncertain what will happen to Classic Stream playlists/channels, embed code, interactivity features, etc.
ZOOM USERS
· If you use Zoom and upload recordings to Stream then you can continue doing that for 1 or more semesters until Streams goes away or you can begin to use OneDrive to store and stream your recordings. Learn How<https://www.instruction.uh.edu/knowledgebase/how-to-share-onedrive-files-in-blackboard/>
TEAM REQUEST
· In the Fall when you request a Blackboard Shell for your class a Team site will be created for your class weather you use it or not. It will be there in the event you choose to use Microsoft Teams to record your class lectures or for other uses as you choose.
