Good morning,
It appears that lately there is an increase in email scams. Please forward all suspicious emails BEFORE acting on them to our security email reporting alias security at egr.uh.edu<mailto:security at egr.uh.edu>. This will help me to help you build on your understanding/recognition of malicious emails.
The common red flags are -
-If you don't know who that person sending the email is, that's one red flag.
-The link is a non-UH link, so that's a second red flag -Administrators will never ask you to simply click on a link to resolve a problem. Third red flag.
Thanks to all those who recognized the suspicious emails and forwarded it to us.
Thanks,
Manjunatha Shenoy
