[CCoE Notice] Goldwater Solicitation

Dr. Ben Rayder, Director, Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards, in the Honors College is seeking help with recruiting current juniors and sophomores in engineering who might be good candidates for the Goldwater Scholarship<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://goldwater.scholarsapply.org/__;!!LkSTlj0I!QhgenIRrnm_xF3U5d_XbeEjRziPBREPDKwfak1nX48TIfN0-pGPwVt5uTb_omPDRtzM$ >.

The Goldwater is a very prestigious and, therefore, competitive award. Most recipients have:

  *       a 3.7 gpa or higher
  *       multiple faculty-mentored research experiences
  *       aspirations to go to graduate school for a PhD
  *       a publication or presentation at a conference is ideal

The award is not officially due until late January, but there is a campus deadline for late November.  Dr. Rayder would be grateful if you might share the names of any candidates that come to mind.
