[CCoE Notice] Excused absence policy clarification

All,



A few of you sent questions about the Excused Absence Policy, and I received clarification from the Provost’s Office.



Regarding Hyflex courses:  While F2F attendance cannot be required, can attendance be required with the student’s choice of either Face-to-face (F2F) or Synchronous online (subject to the excused absence policy)?



                Response: Yes



Regarding Synchronous online courses:  Can faculty set the expectation (requirement/grade) that students join online synchronously (subject to the excused absence policy)?



                Response: Yes
