[CCoE Notice] ANNOUNCEMENT - College-Funded Professorships

Dear Engineering Faculty:

I would like to take a moment to recognize all that we have accomplished as a college. From great strides in research to new milestones in student success, we have a lot to be proud of. The Cullen College has changed tremendously in the past decade, and I can say with confidence that this upward momentum can be greatly attributed to our world-renowned faculty. Faculty are the backbone of our college. Each of you brings impressive academic credentials, research achievements and unparalleled dedication to student success, all of which bolsters our college's reputation as a premier destination for engineering research and eduction.

The recruitment and retention of world-class faculty is our greatest priority, and thus, I would like to announce the implementation of several new professorships, effective immediately:

  *   Cullen College of Engineering Professor
  *   Cullen College of Engineering Associate Professor
  *   Cullen College of Engineering Assistant Professor

These professorships will be awarded to faculty based upon their contributions in research and scholarship. Selections will be made by the departments and recommended to the Office of the Dean. Initial appointments will be five years, with the option for renewal based upon the recommendation of the department. Faculty holding any other professorship or chair are not eligible to participate unless they relinquish their currently held title.

You are our greatest asset, and these new professorships will serve to recognize even more of our deserving faculty. I look forward to awarding these new professorships soon. Please direct any questions you may have to your department's Chair.
