Good morning,
I sent this email around 4PM yesterday when I first learned of it, but this email went to my own junk folder. If it ended up in your junk folder as well, please right-click on the email itself, choose "Junk" then choose "Not Junk." When asked if you trust emails from engi-dist, please check the box then choose OK.
Many of us had just received this phishing email or something similar. Here's a brief analysis that I hoped everyone also went through on your own:
-Email is very generic and doesn't seem to address anyone in particular
-Even though it is from a UH employee, the link in the email is pointing to a non-UH website, so it's an obvious red flag.
-This person is not in the IT Security group so shouldn't be warning us about someone logging into our email accounts. Another red flag.
-Any emails asking us to click on a link then enter our account information should be an automatic red flag
Please delete or forward to abuse at uh.edu<mailto:abuse at uh.edu> to report if any additional suspicious emails show up in your Inboxes. If the suspicious email is obvious, then you don't need to report it.
Thanks,
