Dear Engineering Faculty and Staff,

I want to thank you for your tremendous investment in the University of Houston’s $1 billion capital campaign.

The Cullen College of Engineering set an ambitious goal of raising $140 million of the University of Houston’s $1 billion campaign —the highest fundraising goal of any college on the UH campus.

It is with excitement and gratitude that I can report, the Cullen College has raised $111 million —80% of our total fundraising goal. We are the first academic college on campus to hit and surpass the $100 million mark!

This funding will directly impact engineering student success, faculty support, new and improved facilities and enhanced research capabilities.

While this campaign milestone is significant, we still have our sights set on “raising the bar” to hit our goal of $140 million. In other words, our work is not done.

We, as members of the Cullen College of Engineering, play a vital role in achieving campaign priorities and shaping our University’s future. The success of the University’s, “Raising the Bar” campaign centers on the full participation of all faculty and staff within each academic unit.

I believe that in order to achieve our vision of becoming a Top 50 ranked engineering school we must share in the same vision.

Making a gift of any size to any of the University of Houston’s colleges, departments, programs or other fundraising initiatives doesn’t just help to fuel, build and transform the University— it shows your commitment to the future of Houston’s University.

I challenge each of you to make a gift to the University before the April 12th deadline to show the solidarity of our commitment to our students, faculty, staff and the Houston community. A one-time gift for as little as $2 to any initiative at the University of Houston will count as your participation in this campaign. Your donation to the University can be made by credit card, check or paycheck deduction.

Please visit http://giving.uh.edu/gift/ to make your donation. Join us as we work to ensure UH remains at the pinnacle of enduring success. Let’s raise the bar!

Sincerely,

Joseph W. Tedesco Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE
