Good morning,

Some of us are receiving emails allegedly from Dean Tedesco, but the email address is not his UH Exchange email. In fact, if you look carefully, the address @mail.ru is a Russian email address. This email is similar to the one I mentioned before the Holidays that also perpetrated department heads asking their employees to buy gift cards for them. Please remember to analyze each email carefully, even if it comes from a familiar name. In this case, the “From:” email address gave it away, despite the clever fake email signature. It is also unusual for the “dean” (or anyone else at work) asking someone to buy gift cards for him.

As always: when in doubt, please ask me or someone else for a second opinion if an email even shows one “red flag.” Please email me if you have any questions about spam or phishing emails.

Thanks,

Very well,I need your assistance and will be glad if you can go over it right now. I'm in a meeting at the moment and I need you to get me some iTunes Gift Cards.

I'll reimburse you after my meeting
