[CCoE Notice] SPWLA Student Paper Contest

The SPWLA Board of UH invites you to submit abstracts in the categories of undergraduate, M.Sc., and Ph.d. students.

Abstracts must be submitted no later than  March 15, 2019via email with the attached paper contest entry form completely filled in.  Students will then support their submission by giving a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation tentatively scheduled for 23 March 2019 at ERP9.  These presentations will be graded/judged in the students' respective categories (undergraduate, M.Sc., and Ph.d.) by industry professionals with the regional finalists going on to present at the Woodlands, Texas SPWLA Symposium (June 15-19, 2019 ).


Please make sure your abstract includes the following :

1. Problem statement : describe the problem that motivates the paper proposal.
2. Methodology : describe approach to problem solution, with particular emphasis on innovative procedures that differentiate the method.
3. Results and Conclusion : describe significant results and major technical contributions, lessons learned from the study, application of findings, and opportunities to further deploy methods
4. Abstract should be no more than 200 words and no more than one page

We solicit papers in the following categories,
- Formation Evaluation of Conventional Reservoirs

- Formation Evaluation of Unconventional Reservoirs

- Reservoir Characterization Case Studies
- Completion Petrophysics
- New Borehole Logging Technology
- High Angle/Horizontal Well Evaluation and Real-Time Decision Making
- Reservoir and Production Surveillance
- Complex Reservoirs and New Play Types
- Oil and Gas Data Science and Analytics
