Good morning,

In light of this power outage announcement, please plan on shutting down your computer(s) and electronics in your office and lab before leaving for the holiday break.  If you've already left for the break and cannot shutdown your computer, please arrange for someone in your department to log on then shutdown the computer safely.  Please avoid just pressing the physical power button on the computer because that may cause physical damage to the motherboard and/or hard drive, rendering your data possibly inaccessible.  If you plan on accessing your computer during the break and after the power outage, please arrange for it to be turned back on by yourself or by someone else.  Please also communicate this to your lab staff/students so they could be aware of the power outage as well.

Please email me directly or call if you have any concerns or questions about this notice, or questions about computer usage throughout the holiday break.
