I am pleased to invite you to the upcoming Rockwell Lecture Series on Leadership and Ethics<https://cloudapps.uh.edu/sendit/l/JQc763Kwx1bWW3PVeoRLHO7Q/KIwd1bT0CAnHN0DSz4KFDA/gMnsjdrU3RHriqZWNIrBKA>, which features noted broadcast journalist and producer Soledad O’Brien. Longtime UH benefactor Elizabeth D. Rockwell established this invaluable series in 2004 with the firm belief that the University should host important discussions about leadership and ethics. In that spirit, Ms. O’Brien’s address is titled “Lessons in Leadership - An Evening with Soledad O'Brien.”
Friday, Oct. 12 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Conrad N. Hilton Ballroom
Please RSVP here<https://cloudapps.uh.edu/sendit/l/JQc763Kwx1bWW3PVeoRLHO7Q/AITdvZx60wbBV763WFITEj763Q/gMnsjdrU3RHriqZWNIrBKA>. The event is free, but an RSVP is required.
Ms. O’Brien has established herself as one of the most recognized names in broadcasting and has earned numerous awards for telling the stories behind the most important issues, people, and events of the day. A champion of diversity, she gives voice to the underserved and disenfranchised through her Emmy-winning reporting and acclaimed documentary series, “Black in America” and “Latino in America.” She also serves as a contributing editor, reporting in-depth pieces for PBS NewsHour and as a correspondent for HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. As a philanthropist, Soledad is the founder of PowHERful, a foundation that mentors and funds college tuition and expenses for young women.
We are fortunate to welcome Ms. O'Brien to campus, and I sincerely hope you will join me for a very special evening.
Sincerely,
Paula Myrick Short
