Dear Supporters and Friends,
We are in the midst of the most dramatic turning point in the history of the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering.
The Cullen College of Engineering set an ambitious goal of raising $140 million of the University of Houston’s $1 billion campaign – the highest fundraising goal of any college on the UH campus.
It is with utter awe and gratitude that I can now report our success in raising over $105 million for the Cullen College of Engineering’s academic and research programs – 75% of our total fundraising goal. We are the first academic college on campus to hit and surpass the $100 million mark! While this campaign milestone is significant, we still have our sights set on hitting our goal of $140 million, so our work is not done.
The impact of this campaign on our community is nothing short of transformational. It has allowed us to offer more student scholarships, expand and enhance laboratory and classroom facilities, recruit some of the world’s greatest engineering minds as faculty members, develop new and innovative workforce programs and boost our capacity to conduct research that directly impacts quality of life across the greater Houston area and beyond.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude for you – our friends and supporters – and your exceptional investment in the future of the UH Cullen College and the engineering profession.
When I speak with new UH engineering students, I often tell them: “From here, you can go anywhere.” At the UH Cullen College of Engineering, we believe in the power of science to save lives, to make the impossible possible, to forge a better future for humankind and inspire others to do the same. We believe in our mission to usher in the world of tomorrow while educating the engineers of today. Amplified by Houston’s thriving economy and diverse population, our professors and students are laying down the framework for the next generation of engineering talent, jobs and frontiers.
Because of you, the impact of UH engineers will be felt all over the world for many years to come. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your enduring support of the goals, mission and future of the UH Cullen College of Engineering.
We are going places the Cullen College of Engineering has never been before. Here, We Go!
Sincerely,
Joseph W. Tedesco Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE
