Effective Today, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 to add an undergraduate student to an engineering course for the Spring 2017 semester will require a General Petition (GP) and statement as to why a late add is warranted.

Department advisors can no longer add students to undergraduate classes. THESE REQUESTS will require a General Petition and statement as to why a late add is warranted.

This petition MUST be SIGNED by the INSTRUCTOR of the course, indicating in the comments section of the GP, whether or not the student has been attending classes, and that the instructor approves the addition.

The General Petition MUST INCLUDE the course information (course, course number & section number). If this information is not on the General Petition, the petition will not be processed. The general petition should also include a justification as to why a late add is warranted.

The General Petition must then be approved by the Director of Undergraduate Programs. General Petitions can be turned in at the front desk of the Engineering Undergraduate Programs Suite E316. Generally, it is expected that such additions will be for missing required lab courses or changes of section which are appropriate for the interests of the department and college.

As a general rule, additions of students who are not already enrolled in college courses will not be approved. Undergraduate students should get enrolled in their courses during the first week of classes, and should attend all classes during the first week.

Sincerely,

Lesley D. Sisk
