Dear Engineering Faculty and Staff:

After nearly five years of outstanding service, Dr. Dmitri Litvinov has resigned from his position as director of the materials engineering program to focus on his role as director of the UH Graduate School. Dmitri's dedication to and leadership of the materials engineering program at the Cullen College has brought it to new heights. Now, Dr. Pradeep Sharma will take over the reigns as the program's interim director while a national search is underway for a new director of the materials engineering program. Pradeep will also chair a faculty committee that has been tasked with exploring the establishment of a Materials Engineering Department at the Cullen College.

Please join me in congratulating and thanking Dmitri for raising the bar for our materials engineering program! I look forward to seeing how the interdisciplinary program will continue to grow in size and quality thanks to the foundation Dmitri has laid.
