Dear Cullen College Faculty and Staff:

It is my firm belief that the faculty and staff in the Cullen College of Engineering are by and far the hardest working and most talented individuals on the University of Houston campus. But there is another reason why I so deeply value those of you who make up our UH Engineering family: you are some of the most giving, kind and selfless people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

This year’s State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) results underscore this fact. For the 6th year in a row, the Cullen College raised more money than any other college on the UH campus. Moreover, we exceeded our campaign goal of $30,000, raising a total of $38,774.06 – the most money raised by one College in the history of the SECC campaign!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the SECC campaign, and a very special thank you to all of the staff members who graciously served as coordinators for this campaign. Roshawnda Anderson (Cullen College of Engineering coordinator), Jola-Ade Adesanya (biomedical engineering department coordinator), Nicolette Solano (chemical and biomolecular engineering department coordinator), Cherish Wallace (civil and environmental engineering department coordinator), Rachell Underwood (Dean’s office coordinator), Jaime Broussard (electrical and computer engineering department coordinator), Sharon Hall (industrial engineering department coordinator), Tracy Pringer (mechanical engineering department coordinator) and Rosemary Smith (petroleum engineering department coordinator) were all instrumental in ensuring we exceeded our fundraising goal!

I would also like to extend my congratulations to the faculty and staff members of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, who raised more than any other unit in the college with a total of $15,769.06 in donations.

I am so proud to be a part of our UH Engineering community and to work with each and every one of you. Thank you all so much again for your incredible generosity.

Sincerely,
Joseph W. Tedesco Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE
