Dear Cullen College Faculty, Staff and Students,

As we continue to implement the Cullen College’s Strategic Plan 2020, I am pleased to announce the launch of our new initiative aimed at Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship to be headed up by one of our own, Ms. Lisa Robertson.

Lisa is a familiar face at the Cullen College, having served as the executive director of external relations and strategic partnerships for nearly 7 years before taking on a position as the inaugural managing director for the NSF ADVANCE Center at UH.

Prior to her career at UH, Lisa was the chief of staff to the provost and executive vice president for academics at Texas A&M University. Before that, she served as the director of strategic initiatives and special assistant to the dean at Purdue University’s College of Science.

Lisa received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a master’s degree in international relations from Lancaster University, UK. She holds a certificate in fundraising management from the IU School of Philanthropy.

In her new role, Lisa will develop new entrepreneurship programs in the college and will cultivate a culture that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship with the goal of developing an engineering technology incubator by 2020. The incubator will support increased student and faculty IP generation and start-ups, coordinating with other ongoing activities in this domain at the University level and within other public and private institutions outside of UH.

Please join me in welcoming Lisa back to our community!

Sincerely,
Joseph W. Tedesco Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE
