Dear Engineering Colleagues,
The last question in the Q&A session of Tuesday's faculty meeting with Provost Short triggered several inquiries about (1) how the College of Engineering compares with other colleges and (2) the results of the 2015 Faculty Senate Climate Survey.
Below is an email from the Faculty Senate Executive Director in response to previous inquiries from other engineering faculty. The link takes you to the minutes of the Faculty Senate meeting on December 10, 2014, when the results of the 2015 Survey were first reported.
The comparisons between the College of Engineering and other colleges are not too different from the outcomes of the 2010 Survey, which is also available upon request.
Furthermore, it was primarily the faculty of the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering Departments responded to the 2015 Survey. The Faculty Senate is planning another climate survey this year. Please participate if you want to have your voice heard. Thank you.
Steven Pei
Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Senator, Faculty Senate
