Notice

Please do not leave trash or furniture in the hallways, balconies or on the loading docks! This is not the appropriate way of disposal. Neither Recycling, Custodial or Maintenance services will pick up trash just sitting in the hallway. The individual occupants of labs and offices are responsible for conveying trash and debris to the proper disposal device. If it won’t fit in your office trash can, take it to the dumpsters at the loading dock on the 1st floor of Engineering Building 1. If your trash is too large and/or heavy, contact Ken Perlowski (KPERLOWSKI at UH.EDU<mailto:KPERLOWSKI at UH.EDU>) to arrange for disposal of the trash. Also contact him for furniture moving, broken chairs and office equipment. Do not leave any of these items in the corridors or loading docks.

The blue bins are for day-to-day recycle use, not trash. Packing material from supplies and equipment cannot be placed by the recycling bins and be expected to be picked up. Rather they should be put in the dumpsters at the loading dock on the 1st floor of Engineering Building 1. The campus does not recycle printer cartridges, and so those should not be placed in or near the blue bins. Most printer cartridges come with a return label in the box they originally came in, and this is the method that should be used for recycle. After putting them back in the box and putting the label on the box, please put work with the business staff in your departments to have UPS pick these up.

Thank you for your help and cooperation on this matter.
