Dear Dean Tedesco:

Applications are now being accepted for the 2015 Cougar Chairs Leadership Academy (CCLA).   As you know, the CCLA aims at developing the leadership skills of Department Chairs/unit leaders.   The 2015 CCLA is limited to 35 persons and will represent a mixture of both sitting Department Chairs/unit leaders as well as those who may one day have interest in this kind of unit-level leadership role.  I strongly encourage you to nominate your sitting department chairs as the knowledge and skills embedded in this curriculum have a proven track record for value.

This year-long program is described in detail in the attached brochure, and the nomination materials are also attached for your use.  Since faculty may also self-nominate, I ask that you distribute the attached material to all full-time faculty.

Please take a few moments and nominate two-three people whom you feel would benefit, again with emphasis on sitting chairs.

Should you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone. Otherwise, I look forward to receiving the nominations from your College by October 29, 2014 at the latest.
