Direct Energy will be here until 2p.m. today with what it calls its “Innovation to Inspiration” mobile exhibit, essentially an 18-wheeler trailer with pop-out sides that showcases the latest and future technology in energy savings for homes and businesses. This will be the first stop in a national tour.

The UH stop is behind Bauer, across from the Cullen College of Engineering.

Students and the public will be able to tour the exhibit, an interactive display, showcasing things including:
· Next-generation Next carbon dioxide/smoke detectors and monitors that speak with a human voice when a problem occurs.
· Automated, connected appliances with mobile, app-enabled real-time status information.
· Intelligent, automated water sprinklers that function based on location-specific soil and weather conditions.
· Nest learning thermostats that automatically adjust temperature settings based on customers’ actual energy usage patterns.
