As of TODAY, Wednesday, September 3, 2014, requests to add undergraduate students to an engineering course for the Fall 2014 semester will require a General Petition. Department advisors can no longer add students to undergraduate classes at this point.
These requests will require a general petition. This petition must be signed by the instructor of the course, and a note in the comments section on the general petition, indicating that the student has been attending classes, and that the instructor approves the addition.
The general petition MUST INCLUDE the course information (course, course number & 5-digit section number). If this information is not on the general petition, the petition will not be processed. The General Petition must then be approved by the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies or the department chairman, or both. Generally, it is expected that such additions will be for missing required lab courses or changes of section which are appropriate for the interests of the department and college. As a general rule, additions of students who are not already enrolled in college courses will not be approved. Undergraduate students should get enrolled in their courses during the first week of classes, and should attend all classes during the first week
Many thanks! ~Lesley
