The Center for ADVANCING Faculty Success<http://uhhelpdesk.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvNG~wpDDv8S~xb~Gv9c~yJVFsEq6E77RPN0Gj7~Pv_9&2=13906> will host a kick-off event on Tuesday, October 21 at 4 p.m.  To celebrate the kick-off, Brown University President Emerita Ruth J. Simmons<http://uhhelpdesk.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvNG~wpDDv8S~xb~Gv9c~yJVFsEq6E77RPN0Gj7~Pv_9&2=13904> will give remarks and lead a discussion.  During her tenure at Brown, Dr. Simmons created an ambitious set of initiatives designed to expand and strengthen the faculty.

The University has received a $3.3 million ADVANCE grant from the National Science Foundation to attract and retain more women faculty in science, technology, education, and mathematic disciplines.  We hope you will join us at this event as we move forward in our own initiative to transform our University culture through gender equity and diversity.
