The Cullen College of Engineering encourages all entrepreneurial Engineering faculty, students, and staff to attend the April 4 IP Training workshop: "Pharma Fights: Questcor v. The Medicines Company."  The workshops are especially beneficial for anyone who is interested in learning about commercialization of research, IP strategies, evaluating marketing strategies, and much more.

The purpose of this series is to raise awareness and understanding about IP strategies and business strategies, how the two interact, and which comes first.

This year's three-part IP Training Series will include the following workshops:

Part One: "Whose Time Is It? Pebble v. Fitbit"

Part Two: "Social Media Unplugged: Facebook v. Pinterest"

Part Three: "Pharma Fights: Questcor v. The Medicines Company
Workshop presenters are Aaron Levine and Matt Todd, partners and co-chairs of the New Ventures & Corporate Transactions Group in locally-based law firm Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLC<http://www.novakdruce.com/>. Novak et al is a national IP practice with offices in Houston, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Boston, West Palm Beach and Wilmington. Their clients span a diverse group of industries and technologies from electronic commerce and telecommunications to biotech and pharmaceuticals.

Please note that attendance at previous IP workshops is NOT required and everyone who is interested in entrepreneurism, starting up a business, IP and  business strategies is strongly urged to attend.  We hope to see you there!
