[CCoE Notice] UH-PROMES & AFSP 5th Annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk

Please join UH-PROMES and the Greater Houston Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for the 5th Annual UH Out of the Darkness Campus Walk to raise funds towards understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.



The Walk will start from Lynn Eusan Park on Saturday, March 29.  Check-in is at 8 AM, and the walk program begins at 9 AM.  There will be a DJ to provide music, and free drinks and snacks will be available.  Learn more and register or donate at  www.campuswalks.org<http://www.campuswalks.org>. *         Over 38,000 people die by suicide in the U.S. each year?  That is enough people to fill the Toyota Center twice!

*         80% of those who die by suicide are male

*         Suicide is the second leading cause of death in people aged 15-24 in the state of Texas
