Good Afternoon,

Construction is scheduled to begin on the new MREB (on the former Y building site) this fall.  The contractor is currently planning to mobilize onsite in October.  I've attached the Mobilization Plans for your reference.

You all are listed as the building coordinators for Buildings #523 (Science & Engineering Annex) and #594 EERC.  The construction fences will run along the south side of the building complex, leaving all other sides open for access.  If there is anything on the south side that requires access, please just let me know and we'll work around it.

One of the first tasks will be to remove the existing overhead power lines in this area.  We will be installing temporary electrical service to the building complex from the transformers at Calhoun Lofts.  This will require a power outage to be coordinated at a later date.  Once construction is complete, new permanent power will be installed underground to the complex, again, this will require a power outage to be coordinated at a later date.  The next phase will be removing the existing concrete slab and foundation.  This will likely be noisy and cause a lot of ground vibrations to nearby buildings.  Once real construction begins, the disruptions should be less significant, mostly delivery/concrete truck noise.

I wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible on the events happening in this area.  Construction will run through Spring 2016.  If you have any questions or concerns, please just let me now.
