This presentation will focus on the development and application of a planning model used in optimization of a Shell Chemicals Business. Pitfalls of modeling, as well as best practices in planning will be discussed. This is meant to be an interactive seminar, so attendees are encouraged to participate in the discussion.

Lena Patsidou is a chemical engineer, working for 23 years in Shell, most of them in technology. She received her B.S. degree from University of Thessaloniki, Greece and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Notre Dame. Her latest assignment is with Shell Chemicals Supply, where she is working, among other topics, on the global optimization of a chemical business.
