Engineering faculty, students and staff are invited and highly encouraged to attend this important training session: Creating the Obstacle Course

Part Three: Creating the Obstacle Course

-         What are patents and why they are important to new ventures

-         How to read a patent document

-         Applying for a patent

-         The prosecution process

-         International rights

-         Portfolio management


Aaron Levine and Matt Todd, partners and co-chairs of the New Ventures & Corporate Transactions Group in locally-based law firm Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLC<http://www.novakdruce.com/>, will present each workshop. Novak et al is a national IP practice with offices in Houston, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Boston, West Palm Beach and Wilmington. Their clients span a diverse group of industries and technologies from electronic commerce and telecommunications to biotech and pharmaceuticals.

Please note that registrants may attend any or all of the five sessions in the series.
