[CCoE Notice] Server maintenance Wednesday morning

Good morning,

The server maintenance on Cougar.EGR.UH.EDU was successful, and Cougar.EGR.UH.EDU is back online as scheduled.  Thank you for your patience.

Regarding the Thanksgiving break coming up, anyone who works from home and needs to remotely access work computers remotely should be able to leave office computers on.  It's always a good idea, however, to shutdown other electronics (printers, monitors, scanner, etc.) over an extended break.  Shutting down computers that will not be accessed during an extended break is also a good practice, as long as these computer will be turned back on as soon as the break is over (to allow security and antivirus updates to catch up and keep computers protected).  Please contact me if you have any issues relating to shutting down or turning on of computers before, during and after extended breaks.

Due to hardware maintenance requirements, Cougar.EGR.UH.EDU, will be momentarily unavailable from 7-8AM Wednesday morning, November 27th.  This will affect some software licensing and individual/organization websites.

The following software licenses will be unavailable from 7-8AM:
-ANSYS license manager (Fluent)
-Cadence
-Comsol 40
-Exelis license manager
-QuantumWise

Please plan accordingly and let me know if you have any questions regarding this momentary disruption in service.
