Hello all.  You are receiving this building coordinator communication because your building's standpipe system is scheduled (per list below) to be inspected and tested as part of the university's 5-year standpipe testing process.  Standpipes are integral to helping provide water as part of the building's fire suppression system.

Facilities Management has arranged with the Western States Fire Protection Co. (WSFP) to conduct the standpipe testing.   The testing process should last no more than 2-3 hours per building.  Occupants may notice some noise due to the basement fire pumps being activated and the sound of water flowing through the building's pipes,  as well as a slight odor as the inactive water is drained from the standpipe.   All work should be performed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Barry Simmons, Sr. Project Manager for Facilities Management Fire and Life Safety Services , is the project manager for the standpipe testing.
