[CCoE Notice] FW: hydrostatic testing of the 8" waterline between Old "Y" Building and Engineering Building

Facilities Management needs to schedule pressure test of an existing water line. It will affect the Engineering Lecture Hall Building 580.  Right now, they are looking at doing this during the week, and the restrooms will be off-line during that time. Right now, they are trying to schedule when that can be.

Please let me at your earliest convenience if this creates a problem for anyone.

Mr. McGhee and Mr. Perlowski, I am contacting you to coordinate the hydrostatic (pressure) testing of the eight-inch (8") waterline between Old "Y" Building and Engineering Building.

The eight-inch (8") waterline between Old "Y" Building and Engineering Building was replaced during the CEMO Building construction.  Once installed this water line was not hydrostatically (pressure) tested.  The Fire Marshall is requiring this line be tested as a fire line.  This testing will require the domestic water to be shut off to the following buildings, Science and Engineering Annex (523) and Engineering Lecture Hall (580), during the duration of the test.  I am anticipating this water outage to take approximately three (3) to four (4) days.

Please let me know what week (or two optional weeks) would work best for your occupancy schedule.
I understand that this duration is cumbersome but this test must be performed.

Feel free to call me to discuss and once we come to an agreeable week for this work I will coordinate an outage memo for distribution.
