Many of you may have already received this notification from Mary Dickerson, UIT Security Officer.  This is a legitimate notification, so please follow her advice and not download the attachment in the said email.

For information regarding current phishing scams and other phishing information, please visit the UIT webpage at w w w.uh.edu/uit, then choose Services->Secure Your Data->Spam & Phishing.  It's always better to type out the web address yourself rather than follow any links that may potentially reroute you to infected/malicious webpages.

As stated in previous alerts, you can also email me and ask before clicking on any suspicious emails, web links or attachments.  Thank you for being alert and recognizing malicious emails as they show up regularly in our inboxes.
