[CCoE Notice] NSF iCorps Workshop - September 12

[cid:image001.jpg at 01CE9756.BB2B1EB0]The UH Cullen College of Engineering, the UH College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics, and the UH Division of Research are proud to present the upcoming NSF Innovation Corps (iCorps) Workshop on September 12 (with a special session for mentors on September 13).
UH faculty and students who receive or are eligible for NSF funding are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the iCorps Workshop.
The NSF iCorps program is designed to foster entrepreneurship, accelerate the commercialization of NSF funded research, and create a "national innovative ecosystem." The purpose of the workshop is to inform, raise awareness, and prepare faculty who are interested in participating in the program. Presenters include individuals who have in-depth iCorps knowledge and experience, including an NSF iCorps program director, the director of Georgia Tech VentureLab, the director of the Center for Technology for Commercialization, UW, and UH faculty who are currently participating in the program.
* September 12, 1:00-4:30 p.m.
iCorps Workshop will include an overview of the program by the NSF iCorps program director, the connection between the iCorps approach and the "Lean University," and a panel session with iCorps experienced researchers and participants.

Morning Session for Business & Community Leaders, Entrepreneurs, Investors on September 13 will focus on the iCorps mentor program for Houston-based entrepreneurs and investors.
The event will be held at the UH Energy Research Park, Building 4,<http://www.uh.edu/maps/buildings/?short_name=ERP4> Room 104. A free shuttle bus service runs frequently throughout the day from campus to the ERP<http://www.uh.edu/pts/pdfs/Eastwoodjan13.pdf>.
UH faculty, staff, and students may park in designated areas (with an appropriate parking tag).
