Dear Colleague,

Please note that the deadline for submission of a QEP Grant Proposal has been extended to Monday, May 6, 2013. Funding is available at the $5K, $10K, or $20K levels depending on the scope of the project.  Budgets may include graduate and undergraduate assistants, resource materials, and faculty summer salary support.

Faculty who plan to submit a proposal are strongly encouraged to request a QEP Planning meeting to meet with me and various QEP Resource collaborators to discuss project ideas. To request a meeting, simply REPLY to this email and indicate your availability (dates and time windows) for a meeting next week.

QEP Proposals should focus on integrating inquiry-based learning or research practicum into existing or new courses.  Projects at the departmental level or involving multiple courses are encouraged. The grant program is primarily focused on inquiry-based enhancement and development of the undergraduate curriculum.  However, proposals involving graduate courses that are cross-listed for undergraduate enrollment are eligible. The QEP Grant Program is a key component of the UH Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) called Learning through Discovery that was initiated in 2009 as part of the university’s reaffirmation of accreditation by SACS.  Colleges and departments are encouraged to participate in this effort to enhance the undergraduate learning experience.
