 Enclosed is a Lewis-Burke Primer on Federal Research Agencies of Interest
to Universities and Research Organizations.  This document was prepared as
a tool to help researchers understand the variety of research options
offered at departments and agencies across the federal government.  It
provides basic information about all of the agencies that provide support
to universities and research institutions.

I hope you will share this resource with anyone interested in understanding
the breadth of opportunities in the federal government, including federal
agencies not commonly sought after for funding.  Lewis-Burke staff can
assist you in putting researchers in contact with relevant program officers
and agency leaders, deciphering funding trends, and providing additional
information to help implement your institution’s research goals.

Please note that not all federal funding opportunities and research
initiatives will be addressed in this document; agency web pages should be
visited for the most current information.
