Monday, March 26, 2012, marked an exciting milestone day for UH and the
Division of Research when the U.S. Department of Education designated UH as
a Hispanic-Serving Institution, or HSI. Under this designation, UH can now
apply for Title III and V program grants from the Department of Education.
UH also can tell other potential sponsors — federal and non-federal — of
this designation. Overall, being an HSI opens many doors for funding
opportunities and DOR wanted you to know about this important development.
The Office of Institutional Research sought out the designation for the
university. The official
letter<http://www.research.uh.edu/Forms/Proposal-Processing/UH-Title-III-and-Title-V-Eligibility-Letter>is
available for including with proposals, as needed or requested.
