[CCoE Notice] Power outage for Engineering Building 1 on Saturday, March 17th

I've mistaken the water outage for power outage this weekend in the recent email message.  Please disregard my previous note to shutdown computers for this coming weekend.

Good morning,

In light of the planned power outage announcement for Engineering Building 1 this Saturday, March 17th, please shutdown all computers and other electronic devices that may be at risk due to sudden power loss before leaving for the break on this extended weekend.  It is also helpful to safely shutdown (log in and click on Start->Shutdown) staff, faculty and lab computers for the users who may have already left for the break in your respective departments.

The power outage will not affect shared resources on the ECC servers (e.g. \\laser<file:///\\laser>, \\Netstore-1<file:///\\Netstore-1>, \\Bluejay<file:///\\Bluejay>, \\waystation.egr.e.uh.edu<file:///\\waystation.egr.e.uh.edu>, etc.).

For those who cannot return to campus after the planned power outage to turn their computers back on for remote access for the remainder of the weekend, please email kietl at uh.edu<mailto:kietl at uh.edu> and cjyoung at egr.uh.edu<mailto:cjyoung at egr.uh.edu> and we will attempt to turn your computers back on for you using remote management utilities.  In your email, please include full computer name(s) and/or IP address(es).
