Subject: FY 2014 Call for Problem Statements

Input Needed from Researchers by August 2, 2012

The Texas Department of Transportation is requesting input from researchers
to help identify potential projects for our FY 2014 research program.
 Please distribute this request to researchers working in
transportation-related areas.

Listed below are the TxDOT Goals. Please keep these TxDOT goals in the
forefront as you develop research needs (these goals should "drive" the
research we do.)

 - Maintain a Safe System
 - Address Congestion
 - Connect Texas Communities
 - Become Best In Class State Agency

We need to use our limited research funding to address significant issues
with potential for "big bang for the buck" solutions.

To submit research needs for FY 2014:
Complete as much of the attached Problem Statement form as you can, and
send the form to rtimain at txdot.gov , by replying to this email, by August
2, 2012.  You may also fax the form to (512) 416-4734.
