To all Engineering Faculty and Instructors,
Once again I need to remind you about this essentially meaningless requirement. See the Forwarded Message below.
Every semester, a syllabus for all undergraduate courses (5000 level and below) must be uploaded through your Faculty Center on Peoplesoft. In addition, all faculty and instructors who teach such a course must upload a CV. Even if you have done this before, you must do it again, even if you upload the same file you uploaded before.
I am in no way justifying this requirement. Still, it is a requirement, and we must do it. I am sorry to be the one to bring this to you. The deadline is tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Dave Shattuck
Dr. David P. Shattuck, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs

============= Forwarded Message Follows ======================
The CV Syllabus Spring 2012 deadline is tomorrow, January 24, 2012.
Attached is an Excel Document of Instructors who have not submitted a required CV and/or a syllabus for Spring 2012. You will find one worksheet for No CV and one for No Syllabus. You can use the filter options to select your college or department. As you know, the CV and syllabi are required by law and our compliance is reported to the State of Texas as well as the UHS Board of Regents. The deadline for Spring 2012 is almost here. Please contact your department's Instructors of Record and remind them of this requirement and offer support if needed. I have also attached an updated "Basic Navigation to the Faculty Center" Quick Guide. Please share the guide with your faculty and instructors. The guide provides easy to use steps to Faculty Center functions and includes steps to upload the CV and Syllabi.
Under state law undergraduate classes must have an electronic posting of a course syllabi and a Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the Instructor of Record. The deadline for Instructors are able to upload these two documents using a Word template and an upload interface within their Faculty Center.
Senior Honors Thesis or special problems course are exceptions to the HB2504 law. These courses should end in 98 or 99 and/or would have 4 or less students registered. Please share information about this requirement and deadlines with appropriate Instructors of Record.
You can run your own college/department report on demand. The navigation at the top of the screen shot will take you to the report. Please feel free to call if you have questions.

#1 FAQ Will I have to upload my CV and Syllabi every term?
Yes - unless the material does not change. While CVs might not change every semester, Syllabi are almost guaranteed to, particularly where they need to contain dates, times, room assignments, or other current course information.
In addition to the instructor interface, administrative users, such as yourself, are able to upload documents for an instructor.
Detailed instructions for administrative users and for Instructors of Record are available online at www.uh.edu/hb2504<http://www.uh.edu/hb2504> In particular the site features frequently asked questions such as:
