Employment opportunity for a technical assistant in the field of educational cooperation-Deadline March 16th

The Consulate-General of Brazil in Houston is offering a position for one technical assistant in the area of educational cooperation within the program "Science Without Borders", a large scale Brazilian scholarship program that seeks to strengthen and expand the initiatives of science and technology, through international mobility of undergraduate and graduate students and researchers.

Duties

The technical assistant will have duties in the field of educational cooperation between Brazil and the USA, which include, among others, providing support to Brazilian students involved in the program "Science Without Borders", follow up of existing agreements, liaise with universities and research institutes and prospect new partnerships.

Education and qualifications

The candidate must have a College Degree and be familiar with the American higher education system and the scientific and technological development in the USA. Written and oral fluency in English and Portuguese are mandatory. Good interpersonal skills are desirable as well as skills in working with the internet.

Salary

Initial gross salary will be US$ 3,000.00 per month, plus health and dental private insurance coverage.

O Consulado-Geral do Brasil em Houston faz saber aos interessados, que realizará processo seletivo para a contratação de 01 (um) Auxiliar Local para a função de Assistente Técnico de Nível Superior, na área de Cooperação Educacional.

Prazo para a inscrição: de 13 de fevereiro a 2 de março de 2012 (sexta-feira)

O(A) candidato(a) aprovado(a) deverá ocupar-se de temas atinentes à cooperação educacional, tais como o apoio aos estudantes brasileiros envolvidos no Programa Ciência Sem Fronteiras, a prospecção de novas parcerias, o acompanhamento dos convênios existentes e a interlocução com universidades e instituições de pesquisa.

Deverá, ainda, demostrar conhecimentos sobre os sistemas de ensino superior e de desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico locais, apresentar perfil adequado e formação que lhe permita participar de reuniões com professores, orientadores e representantes de instituições de ensino, bem como capacitação para organizar ações de apoio aos estudantes.

São requisitos a fluência oral e escrita em inglês e português, conhecimentos de informática (Microsoft Word, Excel e Power Point), domínio do uso da Internet e formação de nível superior completa.
