*CPRIT RELEASES THREE RESEARCH REQUESTS FOR APPLICATIONS (RFAs)*****

CPRIT announces the release of three research

Core Facility Support Awards, High-Impact/High Risk Research Awards
and
Individual Investigator Research Awards. Applications for all three RFAs
will be accepted beginning April 12, 2012 at 7 a.m. CST through May 31,
2012 at 3 p.m. CST through the CPRIT Application Receipt System (
www.cpritgrants.org<http://state.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=9bc46acc55c4a42d93566d3a5&id=635eff5e72&e=71b18a039b>).
The applications will be reviewed September - October 2012 and award
notifications are expected in November 2012.****

   - *Core Facility Support Awards (CFSA)**

   These awards support the establishment or enhancement of core research
   facilities (laboratory based or clinical) that will provide valuable
   services to enhance the outcomes of scientifically meritorious cancer
   research projects. Awards are up to $2M (total costs) for the first year,
   and up to $1M (total costs) for subsequent years. The maximum duration of
   these awards is 5 years.

   - *High-Impact/High-Risk Research Awards

   These awards support relatively short-term high-impact/high-risk
   projects that are innovative, developmental, or exploratory in nature
   targeting new avenues of cancer research. Awards are up to $200,000 (total
   costs) for up to 2 years.

   - *Individual Investigator Research Awards

   These awards support applications for innovative research projects
   addressing critically important questions that will significantly advance
   knowledge of the causes, prevention, and/or treatment of cancer. Awardees
   may submit applications for competitive renewals of their existing funded
   awards. This RFA also includes a request for targeted applications for new
   CPRIT partnerships with The Carson Leslie Foundation and Hoffman-La Roche.
   Awards are up to $500,000 (total costs) per year for up to 3 years.
   Exceptions to this amount are permitted if extremely well justified.****
