Good afternoon,

I was notified by one of our staff that there may be a telephone phishing scam going around, so please be aware of what information you're giving out to automated phone systems and suspicious emails.

Subject: Phishing telephone call

I just received an unusual phishing phone call. Perhaps you are already
aware of this, but it was new to me.

I just received a telephone call on my cell phone. The caller's number
was blocked ("unknown"). A computer-generated voice says something to the
effect that "because of a technical problem, your debit card has been
temporarily blocked. If you would like to speak to our security
department, press 1". I did, and the voice now says "if you want to
unblock your debit card, press 1". I did, and the voice says "enter the
16 digits of your debit card, followed by the pound sign". I didn't.

Someone is now using robo-dialing instead of e-mail; the scam is the same,
but with a new twist.

It might be worth putting out a warning message on this.
