All,



                The Beckman Young Investigator awards have been reinstated
for 2012, and the deadline for a letter of intent is October 23.  The
Beckman award is intended to provide funding to individuals with “minimal or
no external or internal funding from parent or other organizations”.  The
awards are open to tenure-track faculty who conduct fundamental research in
the chemical and life sciences.  More information can be found at the below
link.  (This TARU award was not funded in 2009 and 2010, rumored to have
been due to losses in the Madoff scandal but that could just be folklore.)
