[CCoE Notice] Invitation to November 12 "Faculty Entrepreneur Brown Bag" lunch event

Dear Engineering faculty, students, and staff:

This is final reminder and invitation to the Cullen College of Engineering's November 12, 2010 Faculty Entrepreneur Brown Bag lunch for all faculty, research graduate students, and staff who would like to learn about commercialization of their research, how to form a start-up company, prepare SBIR proposals, locate investment capital, the value of mentoring, and more.

A panel of successful faculty entrepreneurs and experts will provide case studies and answer questions.  The Brown Bag lunch is part of the College of Engineering's initiative to support its faculty entrepreneurs and the university's Tier One activities.

Faculty Entrepreneur Brown Bag panelists and their presentations:

*         "Adventures in Tech Transfer," give by Dr. Richard Willson, Professor, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Professor, Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences

*         "From Concept to Pilot-Scale Manufacturing and Commercialization," given by Dr. Venkat ("Selva") Selvamanickam, M.D. Anderson Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Chief Technology Advisor, SuperPower.

*          "A Faculty Review of SBIR's," given by Dr. Badrinath (Badri) Roysam, Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen University Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering

*         "What is a Good VC Deal?" given by Julie Goonewardene, Founder and Managing Partner, IPVentured

The event will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in room W 122, Eng Bldg 2 and LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.
