[CCoE Notice] Email blocking on campus

Good afternoon,

 

This is the email I received regarding UH emails being blocked by
certain ISPs.

 

Greetings - I have good news to update you on with regards to the email
blocking situation.

 

As of 9:30 am this morning, we believe that all ISP blocks of UH mail
have been removed.  We have updated the website at
www.uh.edu/emailblocking <http://www.uh.edu/emailblocking>  with this
latest information. In the event you or any of your users receive a
bounce message, please forward that to security at uh.edu
<mailto:security at uh.edu>  so that we can investigate and take
appropriate action with the ISP.

 

This event started around noon on Sunday, May 2 when we first received
notification of an ISP blocking UH mail.  We are working with PeopleSoft
as well as other campus groups that may have tried to send official UH
mail to faculty, staff and students during this event to insure those
messages are resent.
