  Guidelines for Internal Programs

The Division of Research is pleased to announce that the 2010-2011 
guidelines for two internal grant programs are available on its web site 
www.research.uh.edu <http://www.research.uh.edu/>, click on Toolbox on 
the left side of the page then select Internal Programs.  Each program 
is posted by name.

                1.   New Faculty Research Program - deadline October 15, 
2010

2.   Small Grants Program - deadline Nov. 1, 2010 - Please note that the 
guidelines area posted but the application process for the Small Grants 
Program is being revised for 2010-2011.  Applications will be prepared, 
routed for approvals and submitted electronically.  The instructions for 
submission will be available on the Division of Research web site 
www.research.uh.edu <http://www.research.uh.edu> the first week in 
September, 2010.

Faculty Workshop - Friday, October, 8, 2010 - 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., UH 
Hilton Hotel, Flamingo Room 275; Continental Breakfast available at 8:30 
a.m.

The workshop is open to all faculty, but should be especially helpful to 
those who are new to UH.  We will discuss electronic tools and resources 
that are available in the Division of Research to help faculty develop a 
research program.  Topics that will be discussed are: how to locate 
funding sources, how to process a proposal, how to develop proposal 
budgets, how to coordinate with human subjects and animal care 
committees, how to apply for internal grants and UH procedures regarding 
the development of intellectual property and technology transfer.  
Continental breakfast will be available at 8:30 and there will be time 
allotted for questions.
