[CCoE Notice] templates for CVs and Syllabi, HB2504 compliance

Greetings to all Engineering Faculty and Instructors,

                Many of you have received the request for uploading CVs
and syllabi for undergraduate courses, with regard to compliance with
House Bill 2504.  While I share your concern with yet one more demand
for our time, this one does not need to take a great deal of extra time.
I just did the uploads myself, and it took less than 30 minutes,
including the preparation of the documents.  I was able to complete most
of the CV and syllabus by cutting and pasting from my own CV and
syllabus, which I had already prepared.  

                The uploads are done from your Faculty Center in your
Peoplesoft account.  You get there by entering Peoplesoft, then going to
UH Self-Service, and then to Faculty Center, as you do when you enter
grades.  Change the term to Fall 2010, if necessary, and then you should
see the links CV Upload Link and Syllabus Upload Link, for your
undergraduate courses.  

                If you have trouble downloading the templates, as I did,
I have attached versions of both documents here.  I have also attached
samples, which are the files I uploaded myself.  Yours may be quite
different in content, but should follow the general format.  Again, I
just entered the top parts, and then used cut-and-paste for the rest.  

                It is my understanding that this is only needed for
undergraduate courses, and for faculty who teach undergraduate courses.

                If you have questions, please let me know.  We will also
be training staff on this soon, so there should be key staff members who
will be able to help you.  

                Finally, yes, I am sorry, but this is necessary for
undergraduate courses.
