Subject: Distinguished Young Scholars Seminar accepting applications
Dear colleagues,
The University of Washington Department of Chemical Engineering invites your top students and postdocs to apply for our 12th annual Distinguished Young Scholars Seminar <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https*3A*2F*2Fdepts.washington.edu*2Fdyss*2F&data=05*7C01*7Cche-dept-chairs*40lsv.uky.edu*7C47ece082f89140e3fcf908da222cc412*7C2b30530b69b64457b818481cb53d42ae*7C0*7C0*7C637859872903726371*7CUnknown*7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0*3D*7C3000*7C*7C*7C&sdata=wR9ak7oWxdIE1FL6hFGxGcrJGGcf5SoR4jOnVwI3IyE*3D&reserved=0__;JSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUl!!LkSTlj0I!FMXJfYVqTtJ0Pi4QU0iLlIBkPWJ6495Pfn8w3EuM1fbUCnIOg4BhvEJXk7PTFB0M895rNztwCc6D3nWtziaa5us$> series. This summer program provides early-career chemical engineers the opportunity to present an hour-long research seminar and gain critical interviewing skills. We view it as a service to the profession and an opportunity for our graduate students and postdocs to see the best of the best in their peer group. We are excited to host DYSS speakers in person this year.
We ask you to identify qualified candidates in your department and encourage them to apply. We are particularly interested in applicants representing diverse personal and professional backgrounds. There is no limit to the number of applications from any particular department.
The application deadline is May 22, 2022. Please let potential applicants know this is a great professional development opportunity that provides a leg up for the autumn job search. The top speaker of the series (as judged by UW chemical engineering and molecular engineering and sciences grad students) will receive a $500 prize.
